Chirag G. Patil, MD, is a Stanford trained neurosurgeon and brain tumor specialist at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. He currently serves as Assistant Professor of Neurological Surgery and is the Director of the Center for Brain Tumor Outcomes Research. His clinical practice focuses on the compassionate, comprehensive care of brain tumor patients and he has a special interest and expertise in treating metastatic brain tumors. He also specializes in minimally invasive brain tumor treatments such as stereotactic radiosurgery and neuroendoscopy. Dr. Patil also has significant experience is treating spinal tumors and in treating patients with spinal radiosurgery.
Dr. Patil is a very active neurosurgical researcher, conducting studies on novel brain tumor therapies, radiosurgery for brain metastases, immune factors in gliomas, and treatment of pituitary tumors. His research has been funded by the Walter E. Dandy Fellowship of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons and the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation. He has co-written several chapters in a new text on meningiomas and published more than 40 articles in peer-reviewed journals.
Dr. Patil is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the Society for Neuro-Oncology, and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons. Before coming to Cedars-Sinai, Dr. Patil served on the medical staff of Stanford University, where he completed a residency in neurosurgery, and a fellowship in stereotactic radiosurgery.
Dr. Patil is a very active neurological researcher conducting studies on novel brain tumor therapies, spine surgery outcomes research, radio surgery.
